I’ve lived here in Dana Point since 2004, and have seen a handful of whales and dolphins from the shore, and even some humpback whales while on a friend’s boat (thanks again, @marleyturned ), but I’ve never been out on an official whale watching boat, until yesterday! My mom, aunt, husband, and I went out on @captdaveswhalewatchingsafari ’s Manute’a. The day was gorgeous, and the Manute’a’s crew were fantastic! We didn’t see a whole lot, just one cute little minke whale and a beautiful loggerhead sea turtle, until the very end, when we found a pod of common dolphins! Seeing cetaceans in their element always makes me incredibly happy. I managed to catch this video right before my phone’s batteries ran out. I can’t wait to go back out again some time; it was a great way to spend an afternoon.
